About Design Data
In April of 1984, Charles J. Albert Jr. and David E. Sweigart Jr. founded Design Data Corporation (DDC) headquartered in Lancaster, PA. DDC's original business model was focused on developing and supporting custom software applications to support local businesses in the central Pennsylvania market. Developing core business applications allowed DDC to gain not only a better understanding of technology, but also the business behind the technology.
As the PC began to evolve so did DDC, and in the early 1990's DDC expanded its core business to include, PC and Server setup, configuration, support and repair. During much of the 1990's DDC expanded its PC Division to areas outside of the Central PA market. In 1996, DDC was awarded a State Contract to work with the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veteran Affairs (DMVA) to help develop custom software for all of the Veterans Homes in Pennsylvania. The contract also required DDC to teach and train the DMVA management team on best practices in the technology arena. The successful implementation of the DMVA system provided DDC the opportunity to obtain a number of subsequent State contracts in the years to come.
In 1997 DDC began development of the Outcome Results Software System (ORS) after learning of the lack of technology in the Health and Human Services Industry. Partnering with a number of industry leaders, DDC has grown ORS into an industry leading software product that is running throughout the United States as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
In early 2008 DDC introduced the ReThink I.T. managed services offering to better meet the demand of our customers. The ReThink I.T. program provides small and medium sized businesses the opportunity to pay a single monthly fee for unlimited computer support needs.
DDC continues to rely on the original business plan of providing exceptional customer support by understanding not just technology, but the business and people behind the technologies. 121
